About the Journal

Aim:

Salud Integral y Comunitaria is an international peer-reviewed journal, with a Paraguayan and South American focus, dedicated to publishing innovative and multidisciplinary research addressing health in its broadest sense, integrating biological, psychological, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions. The journal seeks to strengthen Paraguay’s scientific visibility while fostering regional dialogue, promoting evidence-based knowledge, technological and methodological innovations, and interdisciplinary approaches that enhance healthcare delivery, public health policies, and community well-being across Latin America.

Scope
The journal covers a wide spectrum of topics related to comprehensive and community health, with emphasis on:

  • Clinical and Preventive Medicine: Diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases, with focus on primary care, health promotion, and equity in healthcare access.
  • Nursing and Patient Care: Nursing practices, care models, and interventions that improve patient safety, quality of life, and community outreach.
  • Radiology and Medical Imaging: Diagnostic and therapeutic imaging techniques, and their role in integral healthcare and accessibility.
  • Clinical Laboratory: Diagnostic innovations, clinical analysis, and their contribution to both treatment and public health decision-making.
  • Dentistry and Oral Health: Prevention, treatment, and promotion of oral health as a key dimension of overall well-being.

Visibility and Open Access:

The journal follows an open access model, which maximizes the visibility of published articles.

Frequency of publication:
The journal follows a continuous publication model, where articles after acceptance are typeset and published in a single volume per year. Therefore, the call for submissions is permanently open.

Speed of publication:
The journal manages the following times of the editorial process: 10 days for the first response from the section editor or pass to peer review; 30 to 45 days responses from the editor on the observations of peer reviewers; 20 days in layout, metadata uploading and publication on the journal's site.
The editorial team combines rigorous peer review with the efficient timing of the editorial process, which is done exclusively in electronic format.

Promotion and dissemination strategy:
The journal develops a strategy to promote and position published articles on social networks and web platforms, which contributes to increase exposure and access to the articles.
